Active Point
The Active Point is the starting point for distance and bearing calculations in ExpertGPS. The Active Point is displayed
as a red circle on the map, and as a red arrow on the left side of a List View.
Set Active Point Command
The Set Active Point command sets the location used as the starting point for distance and bearing calculations.
To set a waypoint or note as the Active Point, do the following:
Select a waypoint or note.
Then, do one of the following:
On the , click .
Right-click on the selected item, and click .
To set the Active Point on a blank portion of the map, do the following:
View a map.
Press Esc to cancel the selection.
Right-click on a portion of the map that does not contain any items, and click .
To set the Active Point at a point along a route, track, or shape, do the following:
View a map.
Select a route, track, or shape.
Click on the selected item to set the route or track marker at the desired location.
Then, do one of the following:
On the , click .
Right-click on the selected item, and click .
To set the Active Point at a point on an elevation profile, do the following:
View the elevation profile of a track or shape.
Click on the elevation profile to set the marker at the desired location.
Then, do one of the following:
On the , click .
Right-click on the elevation profile, and click .
To set a trackpoint in the Trackpoint List as the Active Point, do the following:
View the Trackpoint List.
Select a trackpoint.
Then, do one of the following:
On the , click .
Right-click on the selected item, and click .
Double-click the selected item.
Clear Active Point Command
To get rid of the red circle on the screen, click Clear Active Point on the Waypoint menu.
Go to Active Point Command
The Go to Active Point command recenters the map so that the Active Point is in the center of the screen.
To recenter the map on the Active Point, do the following:
