ExpertGPS downloads and displays topo maps, aerial photos, and street maps from a number of online map providers. The first time you view a map for a new area, ExpertGPS downloads the appropriate map tiles and caches them on your hard drive. Occasionally, a server error or glitch in your Internet connection may result in an incomplete or corrupt map image being displayed in ExpertGPS. Or, you may be returning to a project area several years later, and want to load the latest aerial imagery for that location.
To flush the map cache and download a fresh copy of the map currently displaying on the screen in ExpertGPS, click
on the , under . You can also use Ctrl+F5 to access this command.All of the map tiles currently displayed on-screen will be removed, and new map tiles will be downloaded from the map server.
