Calculating Area | Calculating Acreage

ExpertGPS can calculate the area of a closed route, track, or shape - very useful for determining acreage of a property, or estimating the size of a timber lot. ExpertGPS switches between acres, square feet, square miles, hectares, square meters, and square kilometers based on the measurement settings you select in Edit/Preferences.

To calculate the area of a closed route, track, or shape, do the following:

  1. If the route, track, or shape is not a closed object, use the Close command to close it.
  2. View the Route, Track or Shape List.
  3. The area will be displayed in the Area column.
  4. If the Area column is not visible in the list, select it using the Select Columns command.
